Frequently Asked Questions
Ordering and shipping
Is shipping really free? Yes, to the lower 48. It is built into the price on the product page. No freight surprise at checkout, no liftgate fee, no residential surcharge.
How long until it arrives? Usually one to two weeks. One to three business days to process and pick up, then five to twelve business days in freight transit. We send tracking when it ships.
How does it get here? LTL freight carrier, curbside delivery with a liftgate. The driver sets the crate at the end of your driveway. Somebody needs to be home, and the carrier will call to schedule. If you have never done this before, read our guide to getting a crate off a freight truck first.
Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii or outside the US? Not right now. Lower 48 only. Email us if you are outside that and we will see what we can do with a freight forwarder.
What do I do if the crate looks damaged? Write the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, take photos, and email help@blueskypowersports.com within 48 hours. Signing a clean receipt makes a claim very hard to win.
Assembly
Does it come assembled? It ships crated and roughly 90 percent assembled. Expect one to two hours of work: wheels, handlebars, battery, fluids, brake and chain adjustment. Full detail on our Assembly and Setup page.
Do I need special tools? A metric socket set, wrenches, screwdrivers, a torque wrench, a tire gauge and a funnel. No specialty tools.
Can somebody else assemble it for me? Yes. Any local powersports, motorcycle or small engine shop can do the final assembly and pre delivery inspection, usually in under an hour. Call ahead and confirm they will work on a customer supplied unit.
Does it come with oil and gas? No. Machines ship dry or nearly dry for transit safety. You add engine oil and fuel, and charge the battery, before the first start.
The machines
Who makes these? Coolster, which is the brand name of Maxtrade LLC, a family owned importer based in southern California. They have been in this business since the early 2000s and they run their own parts store, which is a bigger deal than it sounds when something breaks in year three.
Are the youth machines governed? Straight answer, because this one matters. Youth ATVs sold in the US have to meet a federal speed standard, and the adjustable throttle limiter is how that is done, so every youth ATV we carry has one. But Coolster does not publish the detail model by model on their own site, so rather than promise you something we cannot point at, we confirm it on your specific unit with the distributor before it ships. Ask us and we will tell you what we find. The adult machines, the pit bike and the manual dirt bikes have no speed control at all, by design.
What age is each machine for? Coolster publishes no recommended rider age for any model. None of the thirteen. So the age on every one of our product pages is our own recommendation, worked out from the published seat height and transmission, and it is labelled as ours rather than dressed up as theirs. Use it as a starting point, then check seat height against your actual rider. The comparison table has all thirteen side by side.
Are these street legal? No. Coolster does not make a street legal machine, so everything on this site is sold for off road use only. No titles, no registration for road use, private property and legal riding areas only.
Has this brand ever been recalled? Yes, and we would rather tell you than have you find out later. In February 2022 the CPSC recalled roughly 141,000 Coolster youth ATVs across ten model families. It was remedied with a free repair and no injuries were reported. None of the thirteen machines we sell comes from a family on that list, which was a deliberate choice. Full story on our recalls page.
Why does the ATV-3200S say 200 if the engine is 168.9cc? Because that is how the manufacturer badges it, and we would rather put the real number in the spec table than let you find out later. Same story with the ATV-3250S, which is badged 250 and spec'd at 196.9cc, and the ATV-3125R, badged 125 and spec'd at 120cc. Nine of our thirteen machines have that gap and we flag every one of them on the comparison table.
Warranty, parts and returns
Is there a warranty? Coolster provides a limited manufacturer warranty that varies by model, generally covering defects in materials and workmanship for a limited period from delivery. It does not cover wear items, damage from improper assembly, missed maintenance, racing, modification or abuse. Your crate includes the warranty documentation for your specific model. Register it right away, and keep your maintenance records.
Can I get parts? Yes, and this is one of the better things about the brand. Coolster runs a first party parts store with roughly eleven hundred part numbers, filterable by model, and there is a healthy third party supply on top of it. Email help@blueskypowersports.com with your model, your VIN and a photo of the broken piece and we will source it for you. Our parts and service page lists what wears out and roughly when.
Can I return it? Unridden machines still in the original crate can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight and a restocking fee apply because these are freight items, so please use the Size Guide and call us before you order rather than after. Once a machine has been fueled, started or ridden, it cannot be returned. Damaged in shipping is a different situation entirely and is handled as a freight claim, at no cost to you, as long as you noted it on the delivery receipt.
