Our Story

We got tired of watching the backs of their heads.

That is the honest version. Our kids were inside, lit up by a screen, and the four wheeler we kept talking about buying stayed a thing we talked about. Every time we got close, the same wall: dealers who would not give a straight answer, prices that doubled once freight got added, and a sales guy pushing a machine two sizes too big because that is what was on the floor that week.

So we quit asking and started doing it ourselves.

Who we are

We are a veteran owned family business out of Greenwood, Missouri. This store sits under Blue Sky Outdoorsman, the hunting and fishing brand we have been building for years, and it grew out of the exact same conviction: the outdoors is where families actually become families. Not in the same room. In the same dirt.

We are small. When you call, you are talking to one of us. When you email, one of us reads it. That is not a marketing line, it is just how many people work here.

What we actually believe

We believe the best things get built outside, together, and that a Saturday in the mud is never a wasted Saturday. We believe a kid who learns to handle a machine safely at ten learns something about responsibility that no lecture at the kitchen table ever taught. We believe in doing right by people whether or not anybody is watching, because we answer to Someone higher than a sales quota.

And we believe in telling you the truth about a machine even when the truth costs us the sale. If your rider is too small for the bike they are begging for, we are going to say so. If the model you are looking at wears a 200 badge but the engine is really 169cc, we put that right in the product description, because you are going to find out eventually and we would rather you hear it from us.

Why Coolster

Coolster is the brand name of Maxtrade LLC, a family owned importer that has been putting these machines into American driveways since the early 2000s out of southern California. They build the thing we were looking for: real machines at a price a normal family can reach without a five year loan.

We are not going to oversell them. Coolster is not Honda and these are not Honda prices. What they are is simple, honest, air cooled machines that a person with a socket set can keep running for years, backed by a manufacturer that runs its own parts store with about eleven hundred part numbers in it. For most families getting into this, that is the right trade.

We also looked hard at the part nobody advertises. In February 2022 the Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled roughly 141,000 Coolster youth ATVs across ten model families. It was remedied with a free repair and no injuries were reported. We still built our lineup so that not one machine we sell comes from a family on that list, which cost us several of the best sellers in the category. That is the kind of thing we would want told to us, so it is the kind of thing we tell you.

How we sell

Free freight to the lower 48 on every machine, built into the price so the number you see is the number you pay. Ships crated and roughly 90 percent assembled. One to two hours in your garage and it is ready, or hand it to any local shop for the final setup.

No pressure, no gimmick countdown timers, no fake scarcity. Just honest machines and people who will pick up the phone.
